Winter is not a bad season at all. The snow  fairytale  with all these holidays and presents –  it looks very cheerful and jolly. One thing though is compulsory – the warm and cozy clothes that we wear. And with that said one thing is for sure – there has been a resurrection of the past. The vintage clothing strikes again with the men’s wear trends of this fall. With the dropping of the temperatures, layering is a wise choice. From shearling jackets to flannels, patterned knits and sweatpants.

#1 Shearling jackets

These jackets can be classy and casual at the same time. Also they can be used as a all year round, especially in those  freezing winter months. I can admit – they do remind me a little of  the classic bombardier jackets pilots worn back in time in the WWII and this makes them even more awesome.

#2 The good old Flannel

We all know that the flannels are versatile garments.  They fit on almost everything like shirts, outwear and also cold-weather accessories.  The thing is that – with the appearance of the lumbersexuals the flannels are back in town and they are going to stay there for a long time.

Here are some ideas on the flannels by Band and Outsiders and Michael Bastian.

#3 The come-back of the patterned knits

The patterned knits will bring  more color and a fresh new look, not like the monochrome ones – forget about them. We think it is a good idea, to combine this garment with collared shirt underneath. Another option – a blazer would be nice as well.

Patterned knits look classy and they will certainly keep you warm in the cold winter night along  with a good glass of wine and a nice company of course.  This is  the type of clothing one must wear.

Let’s look at some ideas by of Antonio Marras, J. Crew, and Topman.

#4 Sweatpants

Yes, you got that right! Sweatpants sound and look a little bit strange, but believe it or not they are going to be popular this season. The  choice is  yours, but have in mind that they will keep your look sporty. Also don’t forget to put on some nice sneakers. Boots can used as a backup plan too. Combined with a fitted-shirt and  top you can wear a jacket or a casual blazer.

This might sound wacky,  but it looks casual. If you hesitate to take part in this trend, just look at these pictures and see what we mean –   Todd Snyder and J.Crew.

In addition, if you want to look chic and to walk over your daily routine, fight with style the low temperatures this season. You can blame us if anything goes wrong. After all, we are “that friend” who comes up with the style tips and tries to push you out of the ordinary.
