Saturday, the 4th of October Male-Extravaganza was invited to a small boutique called A Portuguese Love Affair on 142 Colombia Road in Shoreditch, London. The purpose of the event held there, was to have a glass of Port wine with the co-founder of Antiga Barbearia de Bairro, and to be introduced to their amazing grooming range from Portugal!

Antiga Barbearia de Bairro, a Portuguese brand that is reviving the ritual of shaving, is the first brand produced by “100ml”.  They introduce the concept by saying:
“We have felt there was a gap in the Market Segment, so we decided to create something different and unique in this area.”
Antiga Barbearia de Bairro not only strikes with their designs inspired by Principe Real and Riberia Porto, but also with the fact that the grooming products are made by local craftsmen and out of fine materials!

A Portuguese Love Affair shop owners Olga Cruchinho and Dina Martins with Antiga Barbearia de Bairro co-founder Luis Pereira
Two lovely ladies who take care of this amazing little bit of Portugal in London, are Olga Cruchinho and Dina Martins! Luis Pereira and Catarina Fragata are the brilliant minds behind Antiga Barbearia de Bairro who launched their grooming products in A Portuguese Love Affair! Ben Pye from TotalBarber and freehaircuts.co.uk offered to demonstrate shaving techniques on Nicholas Muir for the event! Lucia Nunes from Nana Punk TV who was there to record the event!

#4. What did we do?
Pre-shaving oil, beard soap, shaving brush, razor and after shave oil were the products used by Ben Pye at the event
After getting to know each other, having a glass of Port wine, looking around in the boutique and being introduced the grooming brands products, Ben Pye offered kindly to demonstrate how to use the products offered. Antiga Barbearia de Bairro stated:

The shaving procedure was extremely professional and precise: the face was massaged with oil to make the beard soft, then the soap was applied on the face for a shave, after the shave the face was covered with a warm towel, once the procedure was repeated the aftershave oil and cologne water were applied!
