Might be a bit odd for most of you to talk about shaving in the “love category”, but grooming is just another way of saying “self-care” and we should definitely make time to care for ourselves more. An easy way to start your practice is by simply learning how to shave correctly and using all the creams & oils that will help your skin recover much faster.
Do you have a shaving routine?
I know it sounds weird to ask, many of you will say ‘What kind of question is this?‘, but at the same time I know there are some, less experienced, that don’t really know what products to use and when to use them and how to use them. It sounds so easy, but if you really think about it, the shaving process it is not just about a razor and water – it is more implicit, it involves caring for your skin, maintaining optimal health and looking fresh day after day.
So, how are we maintaining (or improving) our health, our look, the process itself, and still keep our partner happy? (Don’t you hate it when she grins when you have not shaved for a day?!)
The answer is … by having a well balanced shaving routine! Looking around for the best products to use, I stumbled upon Eve Taylor and got seriously involved in what they have to offer. I tried their products and after that, I decided to share them with you, and actually come up with an amazing shaving routine in 4 easy steps! (that works!)
Step #1: Prep the skin – using Shave Oil

This multi-functional product can be used also as shave medium alone, or after shave to combat redness and irritation. I like using if before shaving, because it moisturizes my skin, leaving it smooth and ready for the shaving process. What I love about this product is the fact that contains:
- Rosehip oil: has essential fatty acids and it works like magic to repair the skin
- Avocado oil: provides antioxidants, Vitamin A, D, E
- Unique blend of essential oils: smells divide, great for balancing the skin

Step #2: Shave – using Shaving Gel

Yes, it is true! I like shaving gel better than foam. Why? It is easier to spread across your face and I noticed that you only need a spare amount to be efficient! Why this particular product?
See the ingredients:
- Aloe Vera: it is the base for soothing and hydrating the skin
- Eucalyptus: refreshes and cools
- Lavender: strong anti-septic properties, among many more
Step #3: After shave – using Multi-active Spritz
Order it here!
This is the most commonly used shaving product! I am sure all of you own an after shave! But, doesn’t it bother you when your face gets pretty tight and you can feel the pain of every small razor cut? Do you think this is normal?
I know alcohol is thought to be the best sanitizer, but at the same time, using it regularly on your skin, it will dry it out and cause break outs. (and we don’t want that, do we?) So, why not using a product that has:
- Eucalyptus: see above what it does
- Lime: anti-septic qualities
- Natural and gentle witch hazel: to tone the skin (the same thing as alcohol would do in a normal after shave)
Plus, I like the fact that it takes a few seconds to apply it!

Step #4: Caring – using Face Balm
Order it here!
Although, the first 3 products might seem good enough, our skin is exposed to so many pollutants and it can get irritated pretty easy. We need to help as much as we can, in order to maintain our young and fresh look. What I found is that using a 4rd product in my shaving routine, that would seal in moisture and keep out environmental irritants and pollutants, is a very good decision!
This balm is easily absorbed, lightweight and does not leave your skin shiny! (I was struggling with finding a product to help me) Plus, it’s main ingredients are:
- Dimethicone: used to form a breathable protective barrier
- Sodium PCA: hydrates the skin, in any climate (good for those who love to travel)
- Sandalwood: best for post shaving, it soothes and calms the skin
I hope you will try these products and see how they feel on your skin! No matter what you choose, always use products that are made out of natural ingredients and that are beneficial for your skin and for environment!
