Dolce and Gabbana is an Italian luxury fashion house. The company was founded by designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana after the two met in a fashion house in 1980. They presented their first collection in 1985.

Now, let’s take a look at the Dolce and Gabbana Spring and Summer 2014 menswear collection.

This first design is a favourite of mine. I’m a huge fan of sunglasses on the pair modeled here are fantastic. Brown think trimming matched with dark brown lenses give it a cool look for those cool summer evenings. A black silk jacket with burgundy collars paired with a burgundy shirt gives it an almost dark biker look. (Burgundy seems to be a designer favourite) Chocolate brown skinny trousers give it an ultra fashionable look and once again we see black shoes rounding off this sleek and composed look.

I wanted to talk about the look above because when I was looking through the whole collection I started to see a pattern of trend and this particular outfit got me. I’ll explain why and as you’ll also see by the other outfits displayed. It seems D&G’s SS14 collection mostly seems to be based on gods and romans. As you can see modeled here, a tunic style looking t-shirt that looks roman in orientation with the a Zeus picture pattern on the front. The stripped brown trousers also give it a rustic feel and the sandals look of roman gladiator decent. It is however a very tidy and relaxed outfit.

Tunic look is a common theme.

 You will be begin to see a roman influenced Spring/Summer by D&G as seen below.

This outfit has the looks of an ancient roman building pattern on the front which stretches out onto the sleeves. The zip on this jacket goes through the middle of the building pattern as if representing a doorway, a doorway into the world of fashion perhaps. The jacket is coordinated with above knee-length shorts with a roman coin pattern all over.

This next piece is a pure fashion statement and something completely different from the pattern we’ve been seeing!

An all gold suit, it screams looking at me: “I am a fashion statement, I’m bold and brave and extremely sophisticated”. If you wanted to stand out from the crowed in a club or restaurant, this would be the outfit that will definitely do it. I love this outfit! The sunglasses give it a trendy but also serious look. The jacket is perfect and could be matched with either a black or white shirt to give it a more business attire and could even be matched with black suit pants, the possibilities are endless. This outfit would even look good without the jacket. The shoes finish of this outfit as shoes finished of every outfit just to make it a little more classy.
